Nick Saban 2007-
Nick Saban announced on January 3, 2007 that he accepted an offer to become Alabamas 27th head coach, following a meeting with Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga.

On January 4, 2007, Nick Saban was officially introduced as the head football coach of The University of Alabama at a press conference on the Alabama campus.

On September 1, 2007, his Crimson Tide opened the season with a 52-6 win over the Western Carolina Catamounts, scoring more points than during any game in the 2006 season....

Mike Shula 2003-2006
Mike Shula was hired as head coach at Alabama in May of 2003 after the termination of Mike Price. At the time of his arrival, the program was in great turmoil. In the previous year, the program had been hammered by NCAA sanctions, lost Dennis Franchione to Texas A&M and subsequently fired Mike Price due to his off-field actions. At the time, he was the second-youngest coach in all of Division I-A football, at age 38....
